Defining the nature of resistance, Adham Zargham called Khoramshahr as the symbol of resistance and added that though resistance has a broad meaning, its general and original concept refers to surrendering to God. Referring to the positive effects of holding workshops in different provinces, he said that although some of participants in those workshops were not familiar with painting and drawing and had no experience about war due to their ages, they created artworks enthusiastically. That is why in order to help them to understand the concept of resistance we held a workshop in the university of Tehran to exhibit some artworks on resistance.
Zargham who is a lecturer of the university of Tehran continued that despite the first thing that comes to mind by hearing the word resistance is a gun and other war related stuffs, it has a much broader concept including the devotion that was quite conspicuous in the eight year sacred defense. He added that other manifestations of resistance are self sacrifice, Islamic uprising in region countries against despotic powers, capitalism and United States.
Saying that participants of the workshops were inspired by above mentioned issues, Zargham added some precious pieces of art have been chosen for the second international festival of resistance art. He concluded that resistance which is originally rooted in surrendering to God and persistence in the path of God should be shown by the powerful language of art to have the best effects on people’s mind.
The second international art festival of resistance will be held in eight sections of drawing, painting, poster, photography, cartoon, sculpture, animation and conceptual art by Ravayat cultural foundation in November 2011 in Tehran and other provinces.
